The world is an ever changing environment that is constantly shaping how we function at home, work, and school. The largest factor of change seems to be the rate at which technology is being developed and is becoming a part of our everyday life. One of the largest arguments with the advancing technology is whether or not it’s good for teaching and learning purposes in the classroom. From email to online classes, computers are defiantly manipulating our lives, and can enhance learning in the classroom in various ways. The main reason this argument exists is to prove why technology should be embraced with open arms rather than feared in the classroom by instructors. The first point that needs to be addressed is how technology can empower teachers and enhance the learning experience for all students. Before teachers shun the use of technology in the classroom, then need to realize that technology is actually empowering them and helping them to connect with their students. The day of teaching strictly with a chalk board is over, and teachers can now prepare PowerPoints or visual learning aids for their students. As well as posting the days lecture online via social media or class webpage. Educators also have access to mobile apps to grade, and evaluate the performance of students. Through virtual platforms, teachers are able to provide their students with the ability to learn by video or even video chatting with an expert in any topic.
